This book is not complete because some of the activities were done, but there are still interesting graphic pages here. You will see by the pictures below. The book was published by Action Playbooks, Inc. of 200 Fifth Avenue, New York, N.Y.. It is © A.P. Inc. 1942 and illustrated by Var Tan Ian. The front and back covers have Uncle Sam images. The cover has a dial that turns and shows many different military aircraft on both the cover and first page. There are many colorful non sports trading card like images throughout. Information about the war, enemies, images of subs, ships, planes, tank, torpedo boat, cannon, Jeep, torpedo, tanker, and more. There is are instructions for a scale model Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress. There are airplane spotter images rank and insignia for the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy, Morse Code, and more. There aren't a lot of pages, but much on them. Originally, but not all present now, the play book contained the following list of activities (from back cover): Wear Military Badge Fire Huge Cannons Aim Machine Gun Sight Torpedo Jap Battleship Buy War Savings Stamps Shoot Automatic Pistol Sink Axis Raiders Collect Postage Stamps Build Model Planes Send Code Messages The book measures 9-1/4'' x 12''. It is incomplete as stated above. Please look carefully because what you see is what you get with all of the pages being pictured. What is here appears to be in good condition as pictured. The book when found had been stored away for many years and may have a musty old paper smell that will need to be aired out. Keep in mind that this book would cost far more if it were complete. |
