| | | | The pictures show front and back views of this Old Dressed Japanese Girl Doll. The year that this doll was made is unknown but she is believed to be from the 1940s or earlier. There are no marking that can be seen without completely undressing her. The doll is made of what appears to be plaster or chalkware. She has glass eyes that are brown, black, & white. The legs, arms and head are moveable. The hair appears to be real hair. In her chest is a paper covered noise making device with a spring. It was lightly pushed by no sound was heard. It is intact and rather than damage it, we will not try again. It probably makes a crying sound. Her clothing has a Japanese print and there is some gold speckles on the back. The doll has no fingers or toes as it was made. They are rounded limbs. The doll measures about 7-1/2'' tall. She appears to be in excellent condition. She does have a straight crack on the back of her neck that doesn't show very well on the pictures. |
