The picture shows a front and back view of all (3) Different 1800's United States Hard Times Tokens in this lot. All three are made of copper and have a hole. NATHL MARCH BOOKSELLER & STATIONER NO 7 EXCHANGE BUILDINGS PORTSMOUTH, N.H. 1837 The second one has a seated Liberty with a ship, spinning wheel, shuttle, medical symbol, staff, Liberty Cap, shield, food, and an eagle. The two sides are marked as follows: AMERICAN INSTITUTE NEW YORK COPY OF A MEDAL AWARDED TO ROBINSON'S JONES & CO. FOR THE BEST MILITARY, NAVAL, & PLAIN FLAT BUTTONS 1833 The third one has an image of Lafayette on the front and leaves on the back. The two sides read as follows: LAFAYETTE A FRIEND TO AMERICA & FREEDOM DIED MAY 20 1834 HM & EI RICHARDS MANUFACTURERS OF JEWELRY NEAR THE UNION HOUSE ATTLEBORO, MASS. They each measure about 1-1/8" wide. Since I am not a professional coin grader I will not attempt to grade these. You will need to judge the condition by the pictures. |
