At the bottom it is marked ''THE MARCH FOR DEMOCRACY''. The thick cardboard sign or poster shows political and military leader allies of United States, Great Britain, France, Italy, Belgium, and Canada. Below the oval framed clear images are the names and countries, from the center going outward, are marked as follows: President Woodrow Wilson - United States King George V - Great Britain President Raymond Poincare - France King Victor Immanuel - Italy King Albert I - Belgium Generalissimo Ferdinand Foch - France General Sir Arthur Currie - Canada General Armando Diaz - Italy Admiral Rosslyn E. Wemyss - Great Britain General John J. Pershing - United States Marshal Sir Douglas Haig - Great Britain Admiral William F. Simms - United States Duke De Abruzzi - Italy In the background there is an American flag, another flag, an airplane in the sky, Soldiers with guns fighting, a tank, and a Navy war ship underway. We are not sure where this sign was originally displayed or used. The poster or sign measures about 15-7/8'' x 20''. It appears to be in good condition with some expected age discoloration and a edge segment on the upper right side missing. There are also some small white scuff marks and edge wear as pictured. By the discoloration on the back, it appears that this was once used as the backing cardboard in a large frame. Because this is made of a stiff or rigid cardboard it must be packaged and mailed flat. |
