The picture shows both sides of this 1942 WWII U.S. Navy Sailor Souvenir Mutoscope Photomatic Photograph. This type of photograph was taken from a photo booth. Usually these were located in old arcades, in old Amusement Parks, on Boardwalks, and other popular amusement locations. The photo may have been taken for his Sweetheart and sadly, it may have been this young mans last photo taken. The top lines on the back are lightly penciled in, and not seen on the scan. They read: DATE: October 25, 1942 PLACE TAKEN: New York The bottom of the back reads: Taken By The Photomatic Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. Pat. No. 1665605 Made In U.S.A. International Mutoscope Reel Co., Inc. New York City It measures 2-5/8" x 3-1/16". It appears to be in excellent condition with a a scratch on the picture as pictured. |
