There are three pictures showing views of this Large 1936 Military Band Photograph. The first picture shows the entire photograph. It measures 32-1/4" x 10". It pictures (29) men in this band in full uniform with their musical instruments. Their hats are on the ground. From their uniforms they appear to be in the United States Army. The next picture shows the print that is at the center bottom of the photo. It is marked as follows: * BAND 11th. C.A. FT. H.G. WRIGHT, NEW YORK, SEPT. 1936 * * MAGOR DANIEL H. HOGE, COM'D'G. * * W.O. MANUEL COMULADA, BAND LEADER * In the far right bottom of the photo is an outline of the United States. Within that outline it is marked as follows: E.L. ROTHWELL PHOTO NO. 4061-B NAT'L PHOTO & NEWS SERVICE SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS On the back of the photo is a NATIONAL PHOTO & NEWS SERVICE stamp with information on ordering copies, the price, and a 1936 date. Also on the back, hand written are the names, ranks, and instrument of all of the band members (see left side of picture #3 below), making the musicians here easily researched. Also included included is the other paper seen in picture #3. Both sides are shown listing 34 band members. This additional paper that lists names is an order information sheet from the NATIONAL PHOTO & NEWS SERVICE.This old photograph is in excellent condition with some vertical surface cracking from age and being rolled all these years. It would look great framed. |
