| | | The picture shows a view of this Unused 1954 Creature From The Black Lagoon Movie Ad Mat Mold. The ad mat is not dated but it is from the 1954 movie. This is a mold in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this. The ad mat is like a miniature 3-D poster and would look nice framed, or you could still use it and make print blocks from it. The print block would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater programs. It is made of a thick compressed paper board. This admat has movie scene images of the Creature, it fighting with a man, and one of a man and a woman with a gun. It is marked as follows: MONSTER FROM A LOST AGE! ... RAGING WITH PENT - UP PASSIONS! CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON STARRING RICHARD CARLSON - JULIA ADAMS WITH RICHARD DENNING - ANTONIO MORENO A UNIVERSAL INTERNATIONAL PICTURE UNIVERSAL INTERNATIONAL (logo) The ad mat measures about 2-7/16'' x 7-3/8''. It is in mint unused condition as pictured. Below here, for reference, is a cast list from the 1954 movie: Cast Richard Carlson - Dr. David Reed Julie Adams - Kay Lawrence (as Julia Adams) Richard Denning - Dr. Mark Williams Antonio Moreno - Carl Maia Nestor Paiva - Captain Lucas Whit Bissell - Dr. Edwin Thompson Bernie Gozier - Zako Henry A.
