The pictures show views of the (2) ©1991 McDonald's Restaurant Advertising Bill of Rights Bicentennial Place Mat Press Proofs in this lot. The backs are blank. These had been acquired from an Artist that worked on the production artwork to produce them. These were the press proofs that were inspected before all of the others were printed. The Artist had saved many of the proofs in portfolios. The two of these are laminated or encased in plastic. These two placemats are officially licensed by The Commision on the Bicentennial of the United States Constitution. Their logo is at the bottom right. The bottom left has the McDonalds arches logo. We do not know how many different placemats there were to this set. The one with the nice Statue of Liberty image has ''The Creation of the Bill of Rights'' and the one that pictures the Supreme Court Building has ''The Guarantees of the Bill of Rights''. These are also marked as follows: SECURING BLESSINGS OF LIBERTY McDONALD'S SALUTES THE BICENTENNIAL OF THE BILL OF RIGHTS The place mats, not counting the plastic laminate, each measure about 14'' x 11''. Both of these are in mint unused condition as pictured. The white spots on the left side of these are only light reflections. |
