| | | The pictures show front and back view of the (2) Different 1800s Hood's Sarsaparilla Advertising Trade Cards With Babies in this lot. The shorter card is dated ©1889 and the other card is believed to be from around the same time. One has three babies and the other has five. The first one has them crawling and the second one has them looking at books. Three of the books have titles, these include: ''Take Hood's Sarsaparillo'', ''Hood's Book of Home Made Candies'', and ''ABC''. Both of the backs have much information. These are From ''C. I. Hood & Co., Apothecaries, Lowell, Massachusetts''. The price was ''100 Doses One Dollar''. The fronts of the cards are marked as follows: ''WHO SAID 'HOOD'S SARSAPARILLO'?'' COPYRIGHT 1889 THE ABC CLASS. COPYRIGHTED BY C. I. HOOD & CO. OVER To judge the sizes the longer card measures about 7'' x 2-1/4''. These appear to be in near mint condition as pictured. In the picture below the longer card appears to have white powder in the center. There is nothing on the card. This was a light reflection from glossy areas of the surface of the card. |
