The pictures below show larger views of this 1912 Wesleyan University Junior Promenade Dance Card Booklet and all of its pages. The miniature book has metal covers and metal loops that binds it together. The cover has a medal or medallion that has a raised image of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism. It is marked around his image as follows: UNIVERSITAS WESLEIANA A.D. 1831 The booklet is for a young lady to keep track of who she has promised dances to at the May 10th, 1912 Junior Promenade at Wesleyan University. It appears that ''GM'' is the lucky young man who danced all of the dances with her on that day. The pages list all of the types of music or songs with the titles. It also lists the Patronesses and the Junior Prom committee members. This little book was designed and executed by The George Fry Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The closed booklet measures about 1-15/16'' x 2-1/8''. It appears to be in very good condition for its age with some wear and tear from handling as pictured. |
