The pictures show a view of all (8) 1937 United States Navy Related Photographs in this lot. These photographs were found among other Navy photos and newsletters from between 1925 and 1935. Some of these are from the Naval Training Station in Newport, Rhode Island and others are from ships at sea. The first photo in this lot is of a large water spout at sea. It is being watched from aboard a Navy ship. The second photo is of an electrical storm at sea. It appears that at least one U.S. Navy ship is being hit by lightning. The third photo is of (8) U.S. Navy ships at sea. This photo is not marked but the ships look like Heavy Cruisers that are in other photos that were found with these. Some of those photos were of the U.S.S. Augusta and the U.S.S. Chicago. The fourth photo is marked on the back as follows: This is ''The Royal Hawaiian Hotel'' The ''joint'' the beach in front is Waikiki, where I go swimming. I've got a nice tan. The fifth photo is marked on the back: N. T. Station, Newport, R. I. The sixth and seventh photos are marked: 30th of May in Newport Parade. The last photo (shown sideways) is marked on the back: May 20, 1937 Each of these photos measure 4-1/4'' x 3-1/4''. They are in mint as made condition. |
