There are two pictures showing different views of all (3) Old Animated Premium Or Prize Character Stick Puppets in this lot. Years ago these were sold to me as Cracker Jack prizes, but I have never been able to find any reference to them anywhere. They could have been from Cracker Jack because they are the right size for older prizes. They could have also come from cereal, other products, novelty stores, as party favors, or as old carnival prizes. I just do not know. Wherever these came from they are very nice. Each is made of brightly printed paper with a wooden stick. When the stick is moved something pops out of the top, their eyes change, and their tongues pop out. They are each marked "JAPAN". They are not dated, but are believed to be from the 1930's or 1940's. The backs are blank. There may or may not be more to the series. There is: a KING a NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN a LION. The Indian has a bird pop out and the lion has a mouse. They each measures around 5-3/4" tall and are in near mint condition. |
