There are three pictures showing views of this Large 1910's ZIG - ZAG Confections Store Advertising Display Honeycomb Fan. The first two pictures are the front and back sections. The wooden handles are larger then pictured. The third picture is from the book entitled: "Cracker Jack - The Unauthorized Guide To Advertising Collectibles" by Larry White. This is the very fan that was pictured (on page #104) in the book. Zig Zag was a Pop Corn and Peanut Confection that was made by the D.L Clark Company that was more known for their candy bar line. With this product they competed with both Cracker Jack and Checkers Popcorn Confection. On one side it pictures the confection box label and is marked as follows: DELICIOUS ZIG ZAG THE FOOD CONFECTION Trade Mark Registered THE D.L.C. MODERN CONFECTIONS MOLASSES POPCORN NUT CONFECTION The honey comb section is in red, white, and blue tissue paper. The other printed side tells more about this advertising fan. It reads as follows: This is a hand - made trick fan, and can be turned into twenty-five different designs - all beautiful. It is imported from Japan and is very expensive, but for a limited time, we will pack one in each carton and case of ZIG ZAG. It will add to the beauty of your store or display window. ZIG ZAG adds to your bank account. Keep it in stock - always. The D.L. Clark Co. Pittsburg Closed and with the handles it measures 16-1/2" x 7". It is unbelieveable how many ways this thing goes. You can't really tell by the picture, but they do look great! It is in good condition with some obvious wear as can be pictured. |
