The picture shows this Very Detailed Old Spokane, Washington Real Photo Post Card. There is a lot going on in this photograph! There are people, cars, a bus, a lot of signs, and even the store window displays can be seen! Centered in the image is a Payless Drug Store. A large Reddy Kilowatt advertising character is looking down from a tall billboard. There is a nice looking large Art Deco style building towering above on the right. Besides the many PAYLESS DRUG STORE signs that can be seen, there are the following (at least one, some there are more) advertising signs: WASHINGTON WATER & POWER CO. PRATT FURNITURE CO. ESSICK'S CURTAINS - LAMPS - RUGS TOYS (with bicycle) W.P. FULLER & CO. PAINTS THEY LAST RUGS - DRAPERY COOKS DRUGS N. NEVADA (on bus) POPCORN MAGAZINES GREETING CARDS U.S. MARINES POSTER / SIGN & MORE! There is what appears to be the photographers initials "PVC" on the lower right with the number "V21". The front ois also marked: SPOKANE, WASH - On the back there is a hand written message, address, one cent postage stamp, and a 1949 post mark. It measures 5-7/16" x 3-1/2". It is in excellent condition with some corner wear and a little discoloration. |
