It reads as follows: COMMERCIAL MAP OF THE WORLD ON MERCATOR'S PROJECTION, SHOWING APPROXIMATELY THE REGIONS OPEN TO, AND AVAILABLE FOR, COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISE, TOGETHER WITH THE EXISTING AND PROJECTED INTERNATIONAL HIGHWAYS The slide is not dated but it is believed to be from the late 1800s or early 1900s. Others that were found with this one were from those years. The side of the slide reads as follows: WORLD, MERCATOR'S PROJECTION. T. H. McALLISTER, MANUFACTURING OPTICIAN, 49 NASSAU STREET, NEW YORK The magic lantern slide measures 4'' x 3-1/4''. It appears to be in mint condition as pictured. |
