The pictures show a view of all (4) Old United States Army Berlin Germany Traveling Paper Items in this lot. These items are not dated but they all came from a 1967 scrap book of a U.S. Army Soldier dependent attending school in Frankfurt, Germany. This lot includes a color post card of Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin. The picture side is very good but the back has extra paper and paste from being in a scrapbook. There is a U.S. Army Berlin Travel Instruction folder. Iy has a colorful front, instructions on two folder pockets inside and a simple map on the back with railroad, Berlin, Russian checkpoint, Frankfurt, Bremerhaven, and some mileages. It too has extra paper and paste on the back. Next there is a United States Armed Forces Duty Rail Ticket. The background has a green United States Department of Defense seal. The ticket is filled in and has stampings and a signature. On the back are conditions of the ticket. It is in near mint condition with a single light fold. The last item in this lot is a (10) page Official U.S. document on the special travel instructions on the Berlin - Helmstedt Autobahn. This document gives specific instructions pertaining to checkpoints, vehicles, restrictions, inspections, identification, travel through Soviet Zone, East Germany, West Germany, time limits, Military & Civilian Personnel, and more. Basically it explains who may travel, when, why, and where. It makes reference to Checkpoint Charlie and the Berlin Wall. It is in excellent condition. The pages are stapled with one staple and there is old paste along the top of the back page from being in a scrap book. To judge the sizes the postcard measures 5-3/4'' x 4''.. |
