The pictures shows a view of the (2) Psychedelic 1967 London England Attraction Advertisements in this lot. The colorful one is one sided and the other is two sided. These were both found in a 1967 scrap book. They were both loose because the paste had dried. The scrapbook was from the child of an American Soldier who was stationed in Germany. The child was going to school in Germany and had visited London. The color advertisement is a small poster. The artwork is of a colorful pinball machine titled ''SWINGING LONDON''. On the pin ball game back and game base the following are advertised: Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum Tiles - Oxford Street Carnaby Street Marquee - Wardour Street Sibyllas - Swallow Street Kings Road Biba - Church Street Portobello Road Piccadilly Marylebone Road Park Lane Knightsbridge At the bottom is a quote that reads as follows: 'You are now In london, that great sea, whose ebb and flow At once is deaf and loud, and on the shore Vomits its wrecks, and still howls on for more. Yet in its depths what treasures!' Shelley. The second advertisement is more of a brochure. It has the same ''SWINGING LONDON'' artwork and advertises ''MADAME TUSSAUD'S EXHIBITION''. The brochure lists, on one side, most of the figures in the Wax Museum (in 1967). The list contains (159) names and is dated June 1967. The brochure also advertises the ''BATTLE OF TRAFALGAR ...as it happened'' ''An Entirely New Spectacle''. The poster has two folds and measures 6-3/4'' x 17-5/8''. The opened brochure has two folds and measures 17-1/2'' x 5-7/8''. These are in good condition with marks from old dried paste as pictured. |
