The picture shows a view of this Old United States Navy Submarine Metal Earring Set. These are not dated but they are believed to be from the 1940s. The set is also believed to be hand made by a Sailor or ship yard worker. These would be the U.S. Navy equivalent to U.S. Army trench art. They were probably made for a sweetheart or Mother back home. The left and right earrings have the sub moving in a forward direction. They have a screw back section. They are made of steel and there are no markings. To judge the sizes the submarines each measure about 3/4'' long. They are in excellent or better condition as pictured.
