| The pictures show all (5) Old Grocery Store Negatives & Photographs in this lot. It appears that these photographs were taken when a young couple purchased a grocery store. These are not dated but they are believed to be from the 1940's during World War II. They were found among other WWII photographs from Fitchburg and Boston, Massachusetts. The first two pictures are negatives. They picture store interior images of a young man and young woman with the same background in the store. He is holding a United States $1000 stock certificate or bond with Abraham Lincoln on it. The young lady appears to be wearing a uniform type dress. In the back ground of these negatives and one of the photographs many product packages, tins, cans, and boxes can be seen displayed. Some of these include: Borax 20 Mule Team

and many more... The third negative pictures the same young man in the store doorway with the certificate again. There is a pipe tobacco sign and a small soda sign as well. Next is a photograph of a customer holding loaves of Life Bread and a caton of 7-Up. there is a background of products that can be seen. The last one in this lot is another photograph. It is of a dog on the floor of the store. There is a 7-Up carton on the left and a display or sign in the background. The photos each measure about 3-1/4" x 4-1/2". The negatives each measure about 1-1/4" x 1-3/4". They are in near mint to mint as made condition. |
