The picture shows the (2) Old Prisoner Restraint Chains in this lot. I had purchased these two restraints from a man years ago who told me he was a retired prison guard. I can not remember where he told me he worked. He explained that these were used to escort prisoners to and from cells. Who knows what criminals these were used on! He said they were much easier then hand cuffs and there was no key to deal with. The chain gets wrapped around a prisoners wrist and the end sections are held together through your fingers. They appear harmless, but with a slight twist a wrist can easily be broken and/or the prisoner brought to their knees in an instant. They are very painful. They can also be used as an effective weapon by swinging them and striking with the end sections. The set on top in the picture has interlocking ends for extra added security. All of the links are welded closed and it would be very difficult to break these. They are not marked or dated, but are believed to be old. The top set measures 11-7/8" long and the bottom one is 10-1/8". Both of these for one price! These are in good used condition. |
