| | | | The picture shows a front and back view of this Old Space Astronaut & Rocket Plastic Toy Cap Bomb. This space theme toy cap bomb is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1950s or 1960s. It was probably purchased as a novelty toy at an old five and dime store. The top section features an Astronaut in a space suit standing inside a rocket ship. The way that it works is you would unscrew the bottom section and place a single cap gun cap inside and throw it so that it lands on a hard surface. The heavier bottom will land down. A metal rod hits the cap and it blows up inside. Unfortunately the metal rod is missing on this cap bomb. It can be replaced. It still displays well without it. It is marked on the side as follows: ROYAL TOT MFG. CO.
U.S.A. The cap bomb without the metal rod sticking out of the bottom measures about 3-1/4'' tall. It appears to be in excellent used condition as pictured. |
