| | | The picture shows a view of the (2) Unused 1957 Blood of Dracula & I Was A Teenage Frankenstein Movie Ad Mat Molds in this lot. These two movies were intended to be shown ad a double feature and each admat advertises the other movie as well. These ad mats are not dated but they are from 1957 when these two movies were made. These are molds in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this. The ad mats are like miniature 3-D posters and would look nice framed, or you could still use them and make print blocks from them. The print block would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater programs. It is made of a thick compressed paper board. The left admat has an image of the young Frankenstein holding a limp or dead a pretty lady. The right one has a man and a woman. They are marked as follows: (#1) Another victim has met death in the hands of the ravaging monster in American International's I WAS A TEENAGE FRANKENSTEIN, which is on the same bill with BLOOD OF DRACULA at the Theatre. (#2) Horror ravages the screen, as the Vampire attacks one of her victims in American International's BLOOD OF DRACULA now at the Theatre. Sharing the bill is I WAS A TEENAGE FRANKENSTEIN, the story of a man made monster. SPECIAL MAT NO. C1 To judge the sizes, the larger one measures about 4-3/4'' x 5-1/4''. They appear to be in excellent to mint unused condition with some small spots on the right one as pictured.
