|The picture shows a front and back view of this 1800s Gypsy Queen Cigarettes Victorian Woman Advertising Premium Trade Card. The card is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1880s. It was made back when the same company produced some of the very first baseball trading cards. The card is not numbered and we do not know how many cards there are to the complete set.|
It is larger than most trade cards. On the front is a very colorful image of a pretty Victorian woman and on the back is cigarette advertising from Gypsy Queen Cigarettes, manufactured by Goodwin & Company at their ''Old Judge'' Factory in New York. Because of the large size of the card, we do not believe that it came with a package of cigarettes, but maybe in a case of cigarette packs. The card is marked on the two sides as follows:
''GYPSY QUEEN'' CIGARETTES
Giles Lith. Co. N.Y. & Boston

GOODWIN & CO.,
''OLD JUDGE'' FACTORY
The trade card measures about 4-1/4'' x 6''. It appears to be in good condition with a tear at the bottom, a missing piece at the bottom right, some age coloration and a spot on the back as pictured. We are not card graders so please judge for yourself by looking at the clear pictures below.
