The picture below shows a larger view of this Early Walt Disney Enterprises Fisher Price Pluto Character Pop Up Kritter Wooden Puppet Toy. These Pop Up Kritter toys were amongst the fir toys that Fisher Price had made in the 1920s. The toy is not dated but it has a 1926 patent number on it (see below). The Pluto Pop Up Kritter was most likely made in the early 1930s. The toy is made of colored wooden parts, beads, string, and metal rings. With some practice you can make Pluto move around on the paddle base by moving the strings. Later similar smaller toys called “push puppets” were made. It is marked on the paddle as follows: FISHER PRICE TOYS EAST AURORA ERIE COUNTY, NEW YORK POP - UP KRITTER PAT. NO. 1,601,883 MADE IN U.S.A. “MICKEY MOUSE’S PAL PLUTO” © WALT DISNEY ENTERPRISES To judge the size the paddle section measures about 10-5/8'' x 2-1/2'' x 5/16''. The toy appears to be in good used condition as pictured. It has some over all wear from use. One of the cloth ears is missing, but it can be replaced. The old strings may or may not have been replaced many years ago, but we do not know for sure. |
