The picture shows a view of this Old City Of Leeds, England Souvenir Picture Album. Shown is the cover and two randomly selected pictures from inside. This souvenir album is not dated but believed to be from the early 1900s. The pages are bound by a brown cord with a tassel on the end. The cover is beown and perhaps made to look like leather. There are detailed printed photographs mounted on the pages and there are tissue paper pages separating them. The pictures inside are very detailed with buldings, hotels, government buildings, people, horse drawn wagons, early automobiles, early buses, boats, trees, streets, vendors, statues, businesses, advertising signs, churches, parks, memorials, and much more. The titles on the pictures inside and their sizes are as follows: Town Hall (9-3/8'' x 6-3/8'') City Square (9-3/8'' x 6-3/8'') City Square (9-1/2'' x 6-3/8'') Kirkstall Abbey (9-1/2'' x 6-1/4'') War Memorial and City Square (9-7/16'' x 6-5/16'') Boar Lane (pictured) (9-7/16'' x 6-5/16'') Briggate (pictured) (9-7/16'' x 6-5/16'') Waterloo Lake, Roundhay (9-3/8'' x 6-1/4'') Waterloo Lake, Roundhay (6-5/16'' x 9-1/2'') Boar Lane and Duncan Street (9-3/8'' x 6-3/8'') The Infirmary (9-7/16'' x 6-5/16'') Parish Church (9-3/8'' x 6-3/8'') The Lake, Roundhay (9-7/16'' x 6-5/16'') Temple Newsam (9-3/8'' x 6-5/16'') Adel Church (exterior) (6-1/4'' x 4-3/4'') Adel Church (interior) (6-1/4'' x 4-9/16'') The University (6-5/16'' x 4-5/8'') Seven Arches, Adel (6-5/16'' x 4-11/16'') The Black Prince (3'' x 4-9/16'') Boar Lane (3'' x 4-9/16'') Meanwood Woods (3'' x 4-9/16'') The Oak, Headingley (3'' x 4-9/16'') The Waterfall, Roundhay Park (4-5/8'' x 3'') Canal Gardens, Roundhay Park (4-5/8'' x 3'') The Training College, Headingley (4-5/8'' x 3'') Parish Church (4-5/8'' x 3'') The album measures 12-5/8'' x 8-3/4''. It is in excellent condition as pictured. The tissue paper pages in between the picture pages have some wrinkling and wear but the pictures themselves are excellent. There is an indent on some of the pictures from when the album was made. These do not distract from the images. |
