1955 Tip Top Bread & Cake Advertising Premium Mechanical Election Button
Tip Top   Bread   Cake   Baker   Bakery   Food   Advertising   Premium   Prize   Promotional   Mechanical   Election   Political   Button   Pin   Nostalgic
The picture shows a front and back view of this 1955 Tip Top Bread & Cake Advertising Premium Mechanical Election Button. This novelty advertising piece was made by Sam Gold Premiums and designed by John ''Wally'' Walworth, who created many different premiums and prizes for many companies. I believe that there were two different styles of these Flip Pins that were made for Tip Top Bread. This same design was used for Wonder Bread, Hostess Cakes, Poll Parrot Shoes, Howdy Doody characters, and more.

The way this pin woorks is that you wear it as seen on the left image with the string behind the cardboard. When the string is pulled down the button pops up showing the other side. It is printed in red and blue on heavy white card stock paper. The button is marked on the two sides as follows:

VOTE FOR
TIP TOP ®
BREAD AND CAKE

The button measures 2-1/2'' wide. It is in mint condition as pictured.
