The picture below shows a larger view of all (3) Different Winding Music Box Type Musical Players in this lot. Two of these are boxed. The one in the center with a red ball on the handle has no box. These are not dated and the years that they were made are unknown. Normally these are attached with a wind up mechanism to music boxes, jewelry boxes or figurines. These particular ones were marketed with hand cranks to be played or cranked manually on their own. The left ''TURN A TUNE'' player was made in Japan and is from Midwest Importers. It plays the song ''WHITE CHRISTMAS''. The center player was probably made in Japan as well. It has some old dried glue on the bottom. It probably had some protective felt on the bottom at one time. The tune plays well but we do not recognize the song. The right player is called ''HURDY - GURDY'' and was made in Japan and it was from a Historic Deerfield, Massachusetts Museum. It plays the ''BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC''. It also comes with a paper inside. All three of these for one price! To judge the sizes the left box measures about 3-1/4'' x 1-5/8'' x 7/8''. The players are in working order and they appear to be in mint condition as pictured. The left box has some wear. |
