This is a colorful booklet loaded with much information and many pictures. It was compliments of the Union Oil Company, Union 76 Gas Stations. The cover has a nice colorful image of the candy striped Glamor Tram on a movie set. The back cover has a map with the location north of Los Angeles. The first few pages picture the GlamorTram and explains the tours. Next there is a two page illustrated map of Universal City Studios with the studio attractions or sets marked. After that there is information about the Studios Upper Lot with pictures including: Rest Stop - Prop Storage, Rubber Rocks, Shoot Your Own Trick Photography, Movie Monsters on the loose, On Location, The Inside on Airplane Scenes, the Psycho Manor house, and a Euopean movie scene. Also mentioned is the Pavilion of Glamour, Special Effects Sets, Hong Kong Waterfront, The Munster Laboratory, The Action Arena, Cafe Madrid & Flower Drum Cafe, and Photo Illusion Park. Next there are a few pages showing a numbered illustration of some of the buildings and pictures of things inside which include: a Stunt Show, a Push Button Snow Set, The Munsters Lab, Creature Fog Set, a Make Up Demonstration, and Cecil B. DeMille Courtyard. There is an insert with advertising and an unused business reply order form for membership in the Universal City Studios Record Club. The next few pages have some of the 1966 television shows that were being made there as well as some Decca Records that were recorded. The TV shows include: The Road West, The Jean Arthur Show, Run For Your Life, The Virginian, Bob Hope's Chrysler Theatre, Laredo, Pistols 'n' Petticoats, and World Premiere. The record albums that are pictured include: ''Something Special'' by Burl Ives, ''Mood Indigo'' by Pete Fountain, ''Strangers In The Night'' by Bert Kaempfert, and ''10 Golden Years'' by Brenda Lee. Next there are two pages showing the current (1966) movies that were being made that were going to movie theatres around the world. These include: ''The Pad (and how to use it)'', ''Let's Kill Uncle'', ''The Appaloosa'', ''Fahrenheit 451'', ''Gambit'', ''A Countess From Hong Kong'', and ''Tobruk''. Also at the bottom of these pages actors and actressses are pictured that include: Julie Andrews, James Fox, Mary Tyler Moore, and Carol Channing in ''Thoroughly Modern Millie'', James Drury and Steve Carlson in ''The Young Warriors'', Dean Martin and George Peppard in ''Rough Night At Jericho'', Richard Johnson and Elke Sommer in ''Deadlier Than The Male'', Don Knotts and Joan Freeman in ''The Reluctant Astronaut'', John Wayne and Kirk Douglas in ''The War Wagon'', and finally Anthony Perkins and Yvonne Furneaux in ''The Champagne Murders''. The next page has some pictures of different areas of movie and music production. This page also pictures Charlie Chaplin, Marlin Brando, and Sophia Loren. The opposite page has ''film talk'', the language used by movie people. The booklet measures 5-1/4'' x 8-1/4''. It is in mint condition as pictured. |
