The picture below shows a larger view of all (25) Old Unused Cracker Jack Pop Corn Confection Pot Metal Toy Prize Revolver Guns in this lot. Both sides are identical. This Cracker Jack prize ID number for these is ZP-0054 and they were by the Cosmo Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Illinois. They are not dated but are believed to be from the 1920s or 1930s. These were never inserted into Cracker Jack boxes. They had been brought home and saved for many years by a Cracker Jack Company worker or employee. There was also an identical version of this prize with a charm loop at the end of the grip. These were made without the loop, and had no finish applied to them. Many of the pot metal or lead prizes were manufactured by the Tootsietoy Company of Chicago, Illinois. There were other companies, including from Japan prior to World War II. Some of these type prizes were made specifically for Cracker Jack, while others were made as novelties, bought in volume, and used as prizes by The Cracker Jack Company. Pot metal or lead prizes were some of the earliest prizes that were used in Cracker Jack boxes from the 1910s to the 1940s. Many of these type prizes or novelties were also sold out of old Johnson Smith & Company catalog as well as some other early novelty catalogs, also used in fortune telling sets, and some were also sold and used as board game parts. Many of these can be found factory painted, inked, or with no finish at all. With this many you can resell them, trade them, use them in crafts, or make interesting jewelry necklaces, earrings, bracelets, charms, or whatever your imagination can come up with. All twenty-five of these for one price! The miniature hand guns each measure about 1'' x 7/16'' x 1/8''. These appear to be in near mint to mint unused condition as pictured. |
