The picture shows a view of this Colorful 1953 Downtown Gainesville Florida Post Card. This postcard was postmarked from Gainesville, Florida on March 3, 1953. It also has a ''1953 University of Florida Centennial'' postmark. There is a red John Adams two cent postage stamp. The postcard has a neatly written message on the back and it was mailed to a Brockton, Massachusetts address.

The card pictures a West University Avenue, Gainesville, Florida downtown scene with buildings, old automobiles, a man on a bicycle, and old advertising signs. Some of the old signs can be read such as ''COCA-COLA'', ''CITY DRUG CO.'', ''GEIGER'S'', ''FLORSHEIM SHOES'', and more. It is marked on the back as follows:
