The picture shows all (6) Original 1919 Train Accident Photographs With Information in this lot. These were apparently taken of three separate accidents as indicated on the backs. There is much information written on the backs of the pictures. The pairs of photos are as follows: The left and right photos go together. They were taken in West Lynn, Massachusetts on September 10th, 1919. The backs are dated with location. Also on the back of these two are "X1370 West - PULL IN TRACK - 5.20a". The backs also name the Conductor, The Engineer, The Fireman, and Three Brakemen. The two top center photographs go together. They are of Boston & Maine Railroad Cars (read on cars). Both of these are dated on the back: October 6th, 1919. One of the two has the information written. It names the Conductor, the Engineer, the Fireman, and Three Brakemen (different names from above). It also reads: "SHIFTER 215 - LOOKING EAST JUST INSIDE GATE - G.E. CO. R.WKS. - WEST LYNN, MASS." The third set of pictures are the bottom center ones. These are also of Boston & Maine (B & O) cars. There is a man in these pictures. Each of these two are marked on the backs "TAKEN - NOVEMBER 17th, 1919, OCCURED - NOVEMBER 16th, 1919". Most likely these are from the same railroad yard as the above two sets. The photos measure 4-1/4" x 2-5/8" or slightly smaller. They are in excellent condition and all information on the backs is neat and easily readable. |
