The picture shows a view of this 1800s United States Army & Navy Military Uniforms Color Print. The print is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1890s. There is a 45 star American flag and the men appear to have uniforms from around the Spanish American War. This print or plate appears to be from an old book with glue on a binding edge. The back is blank and the book title is unknown. There are three colorful images on this print. The top one is of a fleet of old U.S. Navy ships. The flag would most likely be from the stern of a ship as well. Six ships can be seen. One of them, to the left of the flag, appears to be an ironclad Monitor type ship. There is a smaller rowboat with Sailors as well. The second (inset) picture is of Naval Officers and Sailors in uniform. One has a sword and another a telescope. The bottom image has both U.S. Army and U.S. Navy Officers, and Soldiers. One is riding a horse, most have swords, and one is carrying a rifle. They appear to be in front of the White House. There is a printed signature in the lower left corner that reads ''H. A. Ogden''. It is marked below the images as follows: UNITED STATES ARMY AND NAVY UNIFORMS - PRESENT DAY The print would look great matted and framed. It measures 6-3/4'' x 9-7/8''. It is in excellent condition as pictured. |
