| | | | The picture shows this 1862 Fire Insurance Company Envelope With Rare United States Postage Stamp. Shown is the entire envelope and closer views of the company logo and the postage stamp. The back of the cover is blank. This was from the Merrimack Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Andover, Massachusetts. It had been sent to a Topsfield, Massachusetts address. This cover has a April 25th, 1862 postmarked three cent George Washington postage stamp. This stamp is an issue from 1861 - 1862. It has perforated sides and has ornaments on the corners that end in a small ball. The envelope measures 8-3/4" x 3-7/8". Please judge the condition by the pictures. The fourth picture is an old book page for reference. |
