The picture shows a view of the (2) Unused 1958 The 7th Voyage of Sinbad Movie Ad Mat Molds in this lot. These are still connected. The ad mats are not dated but they are from the 1958 movie. These are molds in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this. The ad mats are like a miniature 3-D poster and would look nice framed, or you could still use them to make print blocks. The print block would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater programs. It is made of a thick compressed paper board. The bottom admat has a movie scene image with a man & a woman. The top one has a few movie scenes including one with the Cyclops and a sailing ship. They are marked as follows: THE 7th VOYAGE OF SINBAD THE 8th WONDER OF THE SCREEN! DYNAMATION TECHNICOLOR ® STARRING KERWIN MATTHEWS - KATHRYN GRANT CO-STARRING RICHARD EVER AS THE GENIE WITH TORIN THATCHER WRITTEN BY KENNETH KOLB VISUAL EFFECTS CREATED BY RAY HARRY HAUSEN PRODUCED BY CHARLES H.
