The pictures below show larger front and back views of the (2) Different Old Texas Automobile License Plate Prison Advertising Paper Dividers in this lot. The bottom one pictured is from 1969. The impression of the top one is hard to see, but it appears to be from 1974. These advertising papers were used to separate your two license plates after they were made, so that they wouldn’t get scratched. We had never had any of these before. Both of these advertise to “SEE THE TEXAS PRISON RODEO!” each Sunday in October with Guest Stars, Thrilling Inmate Contests, Pageantry, and Quadrilles in Huntsville, Texas. They each also have different messages from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, and the Texas Highway Department. Both of these for one price! If interested, for a limited time, the actual license plates that these were found with, may be available from another person. The auction winner may inquire after this auction ends. These measure about 11-7/8'' x 5-7/8''. They appear to be in poor condition from use, age, handling. There is spotting, yellowing, creasing, wear and tear as pictured. |
