| | | | The pictures below show larger front and back views of this Small Old Mediterranean Sea Stamped Metal Souvenir Map Tray. The third picture below is with the tray under a little different lighting. The tray is not dated but it is old. It is not marked and the maker is unknown. It is made of an unknown silver metal. It has not been tested for any silver content. All of the water bodies are stamped with a cross hatched pattern and the land areas have bumpy surfaces. It may be silver plated but it is not marked. This old map tray has many countries and cities around the Mediterranean Sea marked on it including the following: Europe, Spain, France, Africa, Italy, Greece, Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Benghazi, Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica, Crete, Yugoslavia, Gibraltar, The Straits of Gibraltar, The Mediterranean Sea, The Atlantic Ocean, Adriatic Sea, as well as many cities. The tray may have been a souvenir saved by a Sailor or a tourist. It also may have been a tip tray. The metal tray measures 6'' x 4-1/16'' x 1/2''. It appears to be in excellent or better condition as pictured. |
