The pictures show different views of this Old German Porcelain Air Ship Advertising Souvenir Salt & Pepper Condiment Set. This small porcelain airship is not dated but it is old. It is not marked and the maker is unknown. One side has a colorful bird's eye view image of a German town or village and it reads ''GRUSS AUS ORTENBERG / OBERHESSEN.''. There are six porcelain parts to this small white dirigible. The smaller parts and one side of the airship have gold painted accents. The other side is all white. Both sides are shown. The front and back compartments on top are salt and pepper shakers. There are small cork pieces for the bottom of each of these but they missed getting pictured. The center compartment has a lid with a notch for a spoon, and the tiny spoon. This may be for sugar or some other condiment. Unfortunately the tiny porcelain spoon is broken in half. It is still included. Perhaps it could be repaired or replaced. The salt & pepper shakers and the center compartment fit inside openings at the top of the hollow airship body. To judge the sizes the main body of the airship measures about 5-5/8'' long. Aside from the broken spoon mentioned above, it appears to be in mint condition as pictured. |
