| | | The pictures show a top and bottom view of this Colorful Old Boston Sunday Herald Newspaper Comic Strip Section Advertising Umbrella. The unbrella itself is not dated, but some of the comic strips have a copyright date. The newest one is ©1992 so the umbrella dates after that. It appears that this is an advertising umbrella. Each of the eight sides has advertising for the ''BOSTON SUNDAY HERALD''. How it was acquired is unknown. The comic strips that are on it are as follows: B.C. by Johnny Hart Dennis The Meanace by Hank Katchem Nancy by Jerry Scott Beetle Baily by Mort Walker Blondie by Dean Young & Stan Drake Wizard of ID by Brant Parker & Johnny Hart Peanuts by Charles Schulz People at the bus stop can read the funnies pages while you stay dry in the rain. The umbrella is made up of metal rods, a wooden handle, and what appears to be imprinted nylon. This is a full size umbrella. The center post measures 34'' long and opened it is 42'' wide. There is a button to push to open it and a strap with velcro to close it completely. It opens and closes well and appears to be in near mint to mint condition as pictured. |
