The picture shows a view of all (6) 1944 United States Navy Camp Peary Williamsburg Virginia Items in this lot. This lot contains a postcard, a Thanksgiving Day menu, and (4) Peary Scope Newspapers.

The post card is from the Camp Peary U.S. Naval Training and Distribution Center. It is unused. It pictures the newly adopted (1944) insignia of a Pirate Parrot in a Revolutionary War uniform above a ship anchor.

Next is a 1944 Thanksgiving Day at Camp Peary menu. This holiday menu has for pages. The back one has addresses typed, of the Sailor that was hospitalized and going to mail it and a Worcester, Massachusetts address that it was going to. It was never mailed. The cover has the parrot mascot serving a cooked turkey.

The other (4) items in this lot are different Peary Scope newspapers from the base. Each of these have four pages filled with World War II news, base news, base sports (baseball, football, basketball), comics, movies, awards, ceremonies, and much more. The issues included here are as follows:

Volume I, Issue V - Week of 10 July 1944
Volume I, Issue VI - Week of 17 July 1944
Volume I, Issue VII - Week of 24 July 1944
Volume I, Issue XVIII - Week of 9 October 1944

To judge the sizes the closed newspapers each measure 9'' x 12-1/2''. The post card is in mint unused condition as pictured. The menu card has a center fold crease. The news papers have some normal wrinking from being read.
