They were an advertising premium from Shell with a fill up of gasoline. At the time you could have also ordered a larger carving knife for $1.00 and four of the cardboard wrappers. The knives are made of stainless steel and they have ivory colored plastic handles. The knife blades are marked: QUIKUT ¨ ''QUIKKLE'' STAINLESS U.S.A.
