The picture below shows a larger front and back view of this Old Toy Pirate Premium Gold Plastic Treasure Coin. The coin is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1950s or 1960s. The coin may have been used for two different food premium or prize promotions. The first is as one of the coins issued in the 1950s for Armour Franks. The second is as one of the coins in a Cap’n Crunch Cereal Pirate Chest mail away premium in the 1960s. The coin is not marked except for a small star in a circle on the coin. This square coin is made of gold plastic. On one side there is a Pirate image and the other has a castle with a pennant flag, waves, and stars. The two sides are marked as follows: BARBAROSSA 1502 10 MOGULS PIRATE TREASURE The coin measures about 1-1/8'' wide. It appears to be in mint condition as pictured. |
