| | | The picture below shows a larger view of all (3) 1932 English High School Boston Massachusetts Hayden Statue Paper Items in this lot. These items were saved and found together. All three pertain to a the Hayden Statue at English High School in Boston, Massachusetts. The first item is a dedication dinner program and menu. It has (8) pages including a cover, statue image, dinner menu, speakers list, Officers of the English High School Association, Committee of Arrangements, image of Charles Hayden of the class of 1886, and the English High School motto “Be Clean – Be Courteous – Be Square”. Next is the English High School Record publication Volume XLVIII, Number 3 January 1932 issue. The magazine has (36) pages with much information, images, and Boston area advertising. The Hayden Statue is on the cover. The table of contents include the following: Covers With The Editors Picture of Charles Hayden Symbolism of The Two Bronze Statues Picture of New Statue The Black Sheep Looking Back Fifty Years Athletic Notes Cartoons Current Events The School Library Military Notes Wit and Humor President Hoover's Letter Alumni The third item included here is a January 31st, 1932 newspaper clipping featuring the two statues with Albert H. Wiggin (Class of 1885) and Charles Hayden (Class of 1886). All three of these items for one price! To judge the sizes the Record magazine or booklet measures about 7-3/4'' x 10-3/4''. It appears to light wear to the cover as pictured. The other two items have a vertical fold from saving in a pocket during the dedication event. |
