The picture shows a view of the (2) Different Large Old Unopened Novelty Joke or Prank Toy Spider Figures in this lot. These are not dated but they are both believed to be from the 1960s. The two sided header cards are both marked ''Made In Hong Kong'', but the makers are unknown. The first one has a header card with a jumping woman and a spider. Inside the package is a large spider with a tube and a bulb to squeeze to make the spider jump. We do not know if the rubber bulb is too dry to use or not. Often these old bulbs dry out and crack when used. You would hide around a corner and make the spider jump to scare people or animals. It is marked on the two sides as follows: JUMBO JUMPING SPIDER PRESS THE BULB AND I WILL JUMP S.K. (in a shield) marking NO. 7126 MADE IN HONG KONG The second spider in this lot is a large soft black hairy feeling rubber spider with a string. Some people call these figures ''Jigglers'' or ''Squishy Rubber''. Like old Rubber Uglies creature figures, they were also sold in large 1960s gum ball machine capsules, and in stores out of an cardboard advertising display boxes as well. The header card pictures a spider web, a scared boy, and someone holding the moving spider on the string. It reads as follows: P.V.C. LIFE - LIKE DANGLING SPIDER IT SEEMS ALIVE! MADE IN HONG KONG To judge the sizes the larger package measures about 5-1/2'' x 9-1/2''. Both of these appear to be in mint unopened condition as pictured. |
