| | | | The picture shows a view of this Old Barber Shop / Hair Dresser Exterior Glass Photograph Negative. Also shown are two closer views of areas on the negative. The location and year this was made are unknown, however, it is believed to be from New Hampshire or Massachusetts in the 1800s. The building appears to have two different stores within. The image has (4) men on the porch in front of the business. They may be Barbers or customers. Two of them are smoking cigars, three are wearing hats, and three are wearing pocket watch chains with fobs. In the center of the image is a nice old painted Barber Pole. In front of the porch is an old bicycle. The window has a little design and reads: HAIR DRESSER
The glass negative measures 7'' x 5''. It is in excellent condition with some scratches as pictured. The lower left corner is cracked as pictured. It is being held together with scotch tape at the moment. Luckily the area that is cracked does not affect the better part of the image and it could be cropped out if printed. |
