| | | The pictures show a view of this 1962 Jacqueline Kennedy White House Refurnishing Rejection Letter and the Envelope in this lot. Apparently The Longfellow Antique Shop of Portland, Maine was offering an (unknown) ''most interesting piece'' for a White House refurnishing project, but it was rejected. The letter mentions Jackie Kennedy's comments but it was written and signed by the project Curator William V. Elder on December 28th 1962. The letter was mailed the same day. To judge the sizes the White House stationery letter measures 6-1/4'' x 9-1/4''. The letter has two folds from mailing. It appears to be in near mint condition. The envelope has wear and discoloration from mailing and handling as pictured. The cover was neatly opened at the top, but the postage stamp had fallen off. |
