The ''I Am A Whooper For New Hampshire'' promotion existed at least from 1953 to 1955. It was created by New Hampshire Governor Hugh Gregg to promote agriculture, recreation, and industry in New Hampshire. ''Whooper Week'' had a banquet and would give these pinback buttons and certificates to honorary citizens of New Hampshire. The pin back buttons have a smiling face made up of the lettering. They are marked on the two sides as follows: I AM A WHOOPER FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE THE FELT CRAFTERS
