The picture shows a view of this Old Borden's Tip Top Caramels Candy Advertising label or Wrapper. This wrapper is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1930s. It appears to be advertising aimed towards a grocer or grocery store and it looks like it is a paper label or wrapper for (12) packages of the caramel candies. The ends are identical. It is marked as follows: BORDEN'S REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. Borden's Tip - Top Caramels Trade Marks Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. New Pocket Pack 12 Half Pound Packages Display Them -- They'll Sell Themselves! Made By The Borden Company - Milk Products Division The Borden Sales Company, Inc. New York, Chicago. San Francisco. Distributors This advertising wrapper measures 16-7/8'' x 13-1/4''. It appears to be in good condition with folds as pictured. The back side is not printed, however, someone had used the large blank paper wrapper to write (in pencil) what appears to be lists of titles or subjects from a photo album or a slide show. Since it is all done lightly in pencil, it could all be erased if desired, but that will be left for the buyer to decide. Among the tiles, a World's Fair (probably the 1939 - 1940 New York World's Fair) is mentioned. |
