The pictures show an inside and outside view of this Old Unused Space Theme Banthrico Thrift Missile Pocket Rocket Coin Saving Folder. This dime saving folder is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1950s. It was an advertising premium from the Cambridgeport Savings Bank of Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was to encourage and promote a child to save their money. As the card or folder is filled they would pass the planets and finally reach Earth at $3.00 (30 dimes). There is a blank area on the back for a child's name and address. The folder was by Banthrico International, Inc. of Chicago 6, Illinois, U.S.A. who was also a producer of many different metal coin banks. The folder features an Astronaut with a Moon scape, two rockets, as well as the Sun and planets of our solar system. There is advertising and instructions inside and out. The folder folds in the center. The opened folder, as shown, measures 11-3/4'' x 3-1/2''. It appears to be in mint unused condition as pictured. |
