The picture shows a view of (3) of the (6) Large 1944 World War II American Homefront Family Photograph Negatives in this lot. These negatives are believed to be from either a New Hampshire or Massachusetts town. There is a Mother with (10) children during wartime. There are two sets of twins in this family. There is the Mother and there are (5) girls, (3) boys, and the baby twins are unknown. In the first negative the family is at a table holding up their War Ration books. In the second negative the Mother is putting the War Ration Stamps in the books. The third and fourth (fourth not pictured) negatives are very similar. They have the whole family posing. (The fifth and sixth aren't pictured) The fifth is the two young girl twins posing and the sixth has the Mother seated with the baby twins. These are original large format sepia tone negatives on Eastman Kodak Safety Film. They each measure 4-5/8'' x 3-1/2''. They are almost the size of a post card! With this size a print could be enlarged very big without losing any detail. There is much more detail than can be seen in the scanned pictures below. These negatives are in mint condition as pictured. Although they appear to be professionally made negatives they are not copyrighted. Photographs from these negatives could be printed and sold. |
