| | | | The picture shows a view of both sides of this Old Black Beaded Ladies Purse. This purse is not dated but it is old. It is not marked and the maker is unknown. The purse is covered in black beads and has an identical heart shape on each side. The beads feel like they are made of glass. There is a hinged metal clasp section at the top with a nice design around the edge. There is a metal chain, and the inside is lined with what appears to be black silk. This may have been a purse used for a wake or funeral. The purse measures 4-1/2'' x 4-1/4''. It appears to be in excellent condition. The lining inside is intact. The beads on the purse could use a cleaning. Looking closely, they are a little dusty and the chain has light surface rusting as pictured. The chain can be easily replaced. |
